Long Beach Medical Center is the primary health care provider for Long Beach Island. It is a comprehensive health care organization which includes a 162-bed acute care hospital, a 200-bed skilled nursing facility specializing in rehabilitation medicine, a certified home health care agency and numerous outpatient programs.

Say No to State Health Care Cuts
Governor Paterson has proposed massive health care cuts and taxes that would severely impact Long Beach Medical Center's capability to serve the community. You can learn more about the Governor's proposal and voice your concerns through a new web site established by the Health Care Association of New York State.
The Web sites www.helpyourhospital.org and www.helpyournursinghome.org feature a ZIP Code search engine that provides visitors with a summary of how much funding Long Beach Medical Center and its nursing home, The Komanoff Center would lose under the Governor's plan. The site also offers a letter-sending tool that makes it easy to send a letter to members of the State Legislature. You will also be able to sign up for a free subscription to regular "e-updates" on the state health care budget.
The site features an online petition that visitors can sign to lend their support to ensuring that any health care dollars included in an anticipated federal economic stimulus package are used for health care services only.
