Visiting
Hours
A brief visit from a family
member or a friend can be very beneficial to a patient. However,
since rest and relaxation are very important for a patient's recovery, we
ask that certain regulations be followed by all visitors:
No more than 2 visitors per
patient will be permitted at any one time.
Special arrangements for
children under 14 years of age may be made through the Staff Nurse, Nurse
manager, or Nursing Supervisor.
Children under 14 years of
age are discouraged from visiting patients on isolation.

to 8:00 pm

7:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Rehabilitation Unit (East

Smoke
Free Policy
Smoking is prohibited in
all facilities owned, leased or operated by the Long Beach Medical Center
with one exception. Patients are permitted to smoke in the Medical
Center's Psychiatric Unit, a physician's order is required. An area
designated for smoking is provided off the main entrance to the Medical
Center.
Telephone
Inquiries Concerning a Patient's Condition
The patient's physician is
responsible for providing information on the patient's course of
treatment, progress, results of tests, etc. Please contact him or
her for this type of information.
However, if you wish to
call the nursing station of the patient's unit, the RN caring for the
patient will be happy to speak with you regarding general information such
as appetite, sleeping patterns, activity and tests completed. You
may call the units between the hours of 9AM - 9PM. At all other
times please direct your calls to the Nursing Supervisor.
